Hello all,
I'm looking at enrolling in either Skywest's "Pilot Pathway Program" or Horizons "Pilot Development Program". Skywest seems to advertise a little more money for training assistance (via the RTP program), and advertises seniority (not sure if that means you actually get a seniority number). Not sure if Horizon offers any seniority. My question is- what's the rub? I understand that both are regionals for AK, and that Skywest has all the other big 3 partnerships. If you wanted to be based in the NW (SEA/PDX for example) is one preferable to the other? Better equipment or pay, etc? Does Horizon present a better chance of getting on at AK? I guess in general terms, I don't understand the difference between them as regionals in the context of flying an AK branded aircraft. I also recognize that Skywest would potentially have more options, but I'm attempting to set up my career considering the commuting issue.
Has anyone participated in these programs? I'm curious what the commitment is for the 12-15k they give you for training.
Thanks for any insight.
