So your only significant PIC time was a SEL when you got hired? No multi-engine twin time? CFI > SEL turbine > majors? When and what airline?

We're talking about today. Back in the mid 1980's AA only required 700 hr MEL. That was the only requirement. Guy showed up with more than that in single engine fighter time. Only 230-250 hrs MEL (T-37, T-38, T-38A). "You don't have 700 hrs MEL? Why are you here?" "You called me in." He said "you're concerned about me dealing with complexity? I've flown the A-7 and F-16 in single pilot, low altitude, penetration flying. It's considered some of the hardest flying out there. If you don't hire me I'll go back to flying the F-16 and will never get 700 hrs multi-engine." They hired him. Retired as a 777 CKA. Nice, and sharp, guy.

I said nothing of the sort.

I said that one employer considered my single engine turbine experience. Another considered my four-engine piston bomber experience in the same category as a single engine piston airplane; they classified all piston experience the same. Again, it depends on the employer.

Yes. I know.
When I got hired they considered my glider time. It had nothing to do with getting hired however. It's the time that want to see that matters. Showing up with 5000 TT, 2000 TPIC MEL time, 4000 MEL, and 500 SEL TPIC? The SEL TPIC is logged, it exists, but it has no factor on getting you called in for an interview.

Mine did, and did not, respectively, or I wouldn't have mentioned it.
