Default Inerview Question

How do you tell an airline why you chose them if they are one of the few companies actually hiring? It seems to be a tough question because you want to show interest and tell why you chose them but if they are hiring and nobody else is, isn't it obvious why you applied?

Do some research into the airline that you are applied at is a good start. Also let them know that you want to start your career as an airline pilot and what better company then ______________ to do so. fluff it up a bit and there you go. That or tell them that they are the only hiring and you are desperate to fly what ever they have. Just becareful when looking for jobs, though they may be hiring, it may be a company that has internal issues, a bad name in the industy or poor safety record. Ask around and you will hear both positive and negitaves about each compnay but take their opinions with a grain of salt.

Good luck

The answer may seem obvious, but perhaps they want to understand your own motivations for picking them. They are trying get some insight into the type of person you are. Be ready to answer why they should pick you as opposed to the 300 or so other applicants.

If they are a great company, just say that you want to work for them because of their good reputation.

If they are a crappy company, they will KNOW they are crap so you will need to come up with a realistic answer. Don't tell them you want to work for them because they are the only ones hiring...that means you will leave as soon as you get a better offer.

Geographic location is probably the safest bet here...you can say that you selected them because you (or your spouse) wants to live in one of their junior domiciles. They have no way of checking on that, and of course it will not matter if you ever actually move there...

DON'T make something up. Be honest and genuine as to why you want to work there. They will see right through and "fluff." Do some homework on the company, discover for yourself why you want to work there....other than the obvious.

They know the hiring score - don't fool yourself. They are going to be careful and picky about who they hire - like previously stated, they have a lot of candidates to choose from.

Find some quality that attracts you to them and why they should invest $1000s into you.

Good luck!
