I re-read you original post a few times, it looks like your DUI was reduced to a RECKLESS DRIVING non alcohol, as in a GUILTY PLEA AGREEMENT. Your attorney telling you this would never affect you I think is just him/her blowing smoke up your ass.
Unfortunately you may be in trouble because not only YES you were arrested, but you "Adjudicated or PLEAD" Guilty to Reckless Driving, so in essence you should have said "Yes" to been convicted of a crime...

Good luck getting it expunged. Here in VA the only way that you can get anything expunged off of your record is if you were found not guilty or if the charges were dismissed. If you were found or plead guilty or guilty of a lesser you are out of luck.

What state is reckless driving a traffic ticket? I have never heard of that....Speeding is a ticket, running a stop sign is a ticket. The whole reasoning for reckless driving is that your actions were so severe they were of a criminal nature....

A reckless is not a good thing when applying for an airline job even if it was just a 20-over reckless.
But in your case it will pretty obvious to the airlines that you were arrested for DUI and plead down. Airlines will pretty much consider this the same as a DUI for their purposes.
But it was a while ago and you have a good history since then so you should be able to overcome this.
