Failed Checkrides on Airline Apps
I have a friend, I promise lol, that is filling out applications for the regionals and has 1 checkride failure. When they ask you obviously have to put yes and then the number of failures and which one in the "If yes, please explain" box but what else are you supposed to put in there?
Do you put the month and year, the area of operation or task in the pts that was unsat, what exactly you did wrong, how you learned from it? etc.
I know you would go into all of that in the interview if asked but what about the application? Just curious, thanks.

What about if you fail at a Pt. 141 school? You technically fail, however with some research I've done it isn't on your FAA record. (called OKC and went over the records with me) Technically I failed one at a 141, but it's not on my record. What would you do?

Checkrides are those which are the practical portion of an application for a certificate or rating. These flights must be taken with a fed or designee. The only outcomes of checkrides are passes, fails, and discontinuances.
Part 141 schools conduct stage or phase checks during your training to ensure progress. These are NOT checkrides. Any instructor within a 141 program can, with required training and experience, conduct a phase check. A part 141 instructor can also conduct checkrides if he is a fed or desginee and approved by the feds to do so. Some part 141 schools, as I've learned from some APC members, can conduct a simultaneous EOC (end of course) stage check with a checkride. The only possible outcomes of these are the three I've listed above.
Hope this helps.

There are certain 141 schools such as ERAU that have exemptions that the FAA simply issues the certificates based on their recommendation. (or at least they did when I was there back 20 so years ago). There are no "checkrides" that have pink slips. Although failing a certificate course might be the same????
YMMV
