UAL just announced reduction in CLE flying due to lack of pilots to fly regional feed. CLE is there lowest margin flying so they are reducing there. Press release sez New rest rules combined with lack of new hires is the reason for reduced flying.

Kit Darby, in tomorrow's WSJ, says the shortage is here. Probably means big furloughs in '15.

GF

PS: Darby has been predicting hiring since about '78.

Good article, in my opinion. The reporter does mention that pilots no longer willing to work for low wages. I hope this trend continues and regional pilots are able to get better salaries instead of concessions.

One line about poor pay is better than none, but it was still a horrible agenda article shooting arrows at the broad side of the government policies.

They may "claim" it was because of lack of pilots but in reality it was all about revenue.
Go back to the drawing board.
