Considering that an ATP is a minimum requirement, what exactly would applying now accomplish?

Straight from the hiring folks--when you publish the app does not matter. For mil guys--it will not even hit the rack and stack until you are approx. 6 months from your availability date. For everyone else--it is an iterative thing that happens roughly each time they set up an interview class. The computer looks at all the quality indicators with their associated points--and rank orders them. From that list they invite. They do have some human input at that point--but for the most part you could go in and update your education--for example--and the next run you now have enough points to make the cut. So waiting until your app is perfect to publish is not an issue here--as opposed to other airlines.

Let me just throw this out there. As an XJT pilot under one of the CPP programs, I concede that the rules may be different for us. That being said, we have had people interview recently who have had their application from 2012 or 2013 put in front of them with a red pen and asked to make any corrections. (some were escorted out before the interview even started for too many corrections)

Knowing that, I would make sure that my app is very accurate the first time that it is published. I would also be sure that any box that I checked was 100% legitimate and that I could easily back it up if asked. It is much better to not get the interview at all rather than get it and get escorted out of indoc after you have already quit your previous job. There have been way too many people "gaming" the system and they are double checking everything now.

quick question for you folks who've interviewed at United. I recently converted my logbook to electronic, simply because my logbook has way too many errors and white out in it, it didn't look professional. At the interview, will they want to see both paper and electronic logbooks? Im assuming they'll wanna see it because all of my endorsements and what not are in there, wasn't sure how to transfer that.

So if I follow what is said in the latest ALPA magazine about pilot personalities, I will pass the hogan test?
