Where will all the UPS 727 pilots go?

Vito & Slice,
I was on the 727 for 3 years. I bid reserve and got called in about 3 time a month. "Hello this is crew scheduling we've had a sick call and we need you to operate SDF/TYS layover and then operate back tomorrow." A long trip was Rockford, IL. These guys and gals had it made!! It is unlike any other type of flying at Brown. There are a lot of very senior pilots on that fleet and they will likely find themselves other good deals. Like bidding the 400 and taking the rest of the year off. I went to the 75/76 and got my balls busted enough to leave for the MD. Good luck everyone, in whatever you choose!!

UPSF/Ofor Life,
If the 757 is so tough and the 727 is so easy, you know 45 minute legs, then why didn't you or any of the other 757 guys bid to the 727 all these years?? I never understood why all the 757 guys whine and moan about the scheds, just bid over to the DC-8 or the 727 when that was an option. What is it about the 757/767 that keeps you on it despite the ****ty trips??
just curious

OK smart guy, let me start by saying that when I bid the 75, it was all I could get. I did not even bid the 72 because I don't live in the Ville and did not want to sit around some crash pad waiting for a CID round trip once a month. I actually don't mind the 75 sched. that much. My point was how bid a shock it is going to be for SOME of the 72 guys.
And nothing that I have posted is my opinion. It is just the way it is at UPS. The 72 has or soon to be had the easiest scheds. in the fleet.

UPSFO4life,
Understand, I wasn't trying to be a smart guy..it always made me wonder why so many 757 guys complained about the scheds yet stayed on the jet. When I was first hired my goal was to fly a 757, it was new and looked cool! but after a few months the "bloom came off the rose" take care, see you round the sort,
Vito

not really, but it is 6 weeks or so away from home on your own nickle. I have always found the training to be good and in a very positive environment. The 757 program does have a bad rep though as having 8 pounds of crap stuffed in a 4 pound boot. Supposedly that has subsided a bit with the new program.
