Still, it'll be interesting to see what, if anything, the wolf is wearing in a few days...

So you guys want to go running down the strike trail again? As before, myself and the other 1224 pilots will not cross your picket line. But, I've gotta be honest, I won't be happy about it. If I understand the issues correctly the points of contention look like they should be settled in court. A strike that brings all of 1224 to a halt in CVG is essentially forcing us to be your muscle in a "minor" contract dispute as spelled out in the relevant labor law. If you go out this time over this are we going to be doing this every three to four months? Strikes are supposed to be for "major" contract violations or impasses in section 6 negotiations. We fought our management at K4 for over six years and were constantly told a strike was not an option. Yet now we are expected to support a second one by the same carrier in 6 months?

You quote "minor" as if you are the arbiter, judge, or even attorney of record. Those decision are made at higher levels...yes, subject to being disputed and/or overturned. The prior job action was determined (by union attorneys) to be a major dispute item, subsequent rulings changed that...even further agreements have dissolved those decisions in their entirety.
Are there other items or disputes in the future for ABX? For any other 1224 carrier? For airlines other than Teamster represented operators? Probably and most likely...yes. Will they end up in job actions....I do not know. Best to be prepared either way. It's true that ABX has the potential for a scope infraction...label it major if you want (I'm not the person to make that call). As others have said, it remains to be seen. I doubt anything will occur soon; as operations progress, that may be another story.
Regarding what you are supposed to do? Whether its 3 months or 3 years, you do exactly what you did in the past....support your industry, and brothers in the Union. I don't think anyone is "happy" about being on or supporting a strike. It can be a necessary evil; one that I hope is not required again (for ABX or anyone else). I know everyone appreciates K4 as well as <most> everyone else in their actions and solidarity.
