What I was trying to say is how can you make $45,000 per year when the minimum guarantee is $55,000 per year? $76 x 56 x 13 bid periods per year.... It was listed on the job offer letter. Maybe he took the job not caring what it paid, and did not pay attention. In that case he might be a legit co-worker.

Or 3rd year 89x56=4984/2=2492 health, soc, tax etc...

I don't get how they are doing this pay over ride going. I just asked an FO if this was correct numbers and he showed his pay....it's pretty close

BUT I know the new guys were banging OT the first year so he's probably dead on. Then again what do I know..

Has ALPA Grieved it? That would be a big hammer to move negotiations.

I think where you are missing the point was that he said "take home pay"

This exact scenario happened at Kalitta during our negotiations. The company unilaterally changed some of the new hire pay rates. The Union took it to court and won. It is certainly a way to put pressure on a company. In todays market the competition for new hires is hot and heavy and poor new hire pay rates do not bring bodies through the door. It was unpleasant to take money away from guys that were promised something when they were interviewed/hired but if it's not in the CBA's compensation section it can not be given to one group or class without the union agreeing to it. Companies feast on the RLA when it suits them but complain when it bites them. Welcome to labors world.

True that. Meanwhile the ATI MEC was too weak or stupid to allow it to happen. ALPA at its finest.

Why on earth would your union agree to that?

Nevermind...I never understand anything that comes out of your MEC.

My original intent was not to trash talk the company but to offer a legit look back over a first year here.

As previous post mention, the union is here is in complete disarray. Oddly most of what is on this site is true. Before coming here I have always read APC with some skepticism. When deals are made with specific union or key personnel it simply breaks the organization and destroys trust. Without a doubt it stokes the venting here on APC.
