I then went the the Bose A20.. which I loved... when the preflight came out I got one....HATED it.. absolutely a hated it... I'm sure many like them .. I just didn't. Bose did take them back even after the 30 day money back guarantee and I bought a new set of
A20's.

I've been using the Clarity Aloft Pro Plus in King Airs, corporate jets, and regional jets for over 7 years now. I know in-ear headsets are not everyone's cup of tea but these things have been fantastic. When I broke my last pair (totally my fault) which was going strong after 5 years I called CA support and they gave me a code to get 75% off a new headset because mine was outside the warranty window. That is how they won a customer for life.
I haven't tried the Flex yet but being a guy with long hair I am concerned about the headband pinching and pulling out my hair. Other than that I have loved the Pro Plus since the day I bought it and it is seriously worth considering. If you buy it and end up loving it go to your local audiologist and have them make a set of custom ear molds for it. That makes life super easy.

I have DC Pro X's, love them. When they were brand new, I accidentally yanked the cord so hard, it ripped headers off the PC board and lifted traces, totally ruined them. Called David Clarke, told them exactly what happened. No questions asked, they repaired them for free, even giving me the newest firmware version. I think everyone else would of charged me money.

I would suggest trying to get a bluetooth headset and get an aviation mic adapter (uflymike). That way when you're on break you can just disconnect and still have ANR. Also we deadhead a lot so now you have a headset to wear as a passenger.

If you do, make sure it is one of the TSO'ed versions or at least be prepared to fly with the ship's headset in the event of a ride with a fed or check airman on board. The FAA doesn't require it but our GOM does and while some might not care.. you never know who will.

I had the original YouFly and Bose QC3/15 setup. Great at first then they developed an issue where the mic would pull out a fraction of a mm and radio audio would be lost. After getting yelled at by Oakland ground, had to ditch them.

I ditched my light speeds in 2011 because I thought they were too big and bought the cool telex ANR. Managed to sell those when I realized I couldn’t hear. I bought the sennheiser n/c like the announcers on the sports channels use. Didn’t fully seal my ear. Lost my butt on that resale. Broke down and bought the A20. Way uncool maybe but I am happy

No Health Insurance
What are new hires doing for gap coverage health insurance policies, since Kalitta doesn't offer benefits until after 90 days? My wife doesn't work, so I can't get on her policy. All the ones that I've looked at so far are quite expensive considering the very high deductible and copays. She's a five year Cancer survivor, so we worry about catastrophic illness recurring.
Thanks
