This is how Atlas does it:
1. ALL pilots on the 747/767 are trained in the left seat, and take a PIC checkride as initial new hires.
2. SIC.
3. FO pay.
Note: Sometimes there is only one captain on a flight, other times there are all captains (all captains are trained to TO/Land in the right seat). To sit in the left seat for taxi/takeoff/landing you have to be a captain.

Other airlines, like Cathay, have Capt, IRO Capt, FO, and IRO FO (SO) positions. They are four separate positions, with four separate pay scales.

Thanx

1) a candidate leaves initial training with a PIC type. The checkride is done from the right seat, except a rejected takeoff is completed from the left seat. So right out of training, all F/O's are IRO qualified.

2) SIC

3) If someone is assigned as an IRO, they are paid the IRO rate (just shy of $20.00 increase over their current F/O rate) for the entire flight assignment. (Block to Block)

I applied during the last two vacancies, and did not get a TBNT (got one back in February) nor any communications for an interview/next steps. Is any one else in this purgatory?

same..been applying consistently to ATI for well over a year.. like others I知 more than qualified. Never get a chance.. messaged with a recruiter who said I知 qualified and then some.
guess I値l keep trying as well.. they seem like a good company.
I wonder how many applicants they池e getting per window.
Also frustrating is I know of 2 from my company who have no TPIC yet got hired..
