Good luck on that, since 4 I. 4 c. specifically addresses CBT. However, feel free to beat your head against the wall at crew pay and contract enforcement. I've done it a time or two, myself.

Is there a a "quid pro quo" mechanism for dropping reserve days based entirely on picking up a specific trip, i.e., I drop two reserve days if you give me an imaginary a.m. PWM turn, or something. . . A colleague made a remark alluding to this but it was Ram dumped in lieu of something slightly more important, like locating the vending machine.

11.B.2. Special instruction materials are designed to allow pilots to review recent developments or to address FAA suspense items. Materials shall not exceed 45 minutes in length and shall not be required more often than 4 times per year. The Company shall provide notice of the issuance of special instruction materials via Flight Crew Information File (FCIF) or other communications methods to be designated by the Company, and pilots shall be given a deadline, but not less than 30 days, to review/accomplish the materials. Failure to complete that material shall result in unpaid removal from any activities until completion of the material. The Company shall provide a VIPS notification to all pilots who have not completed such training at least 5 days prior to the deadline.
How long was that EFB DVD?.

No, it's two unrelated transactions. R day drop, and Trip specific makeup request.

It has come to our attention that the Company’s Crew Pay Data department is not currently receiving notification from the Training Department when a crewmember completes the course code “FI11EFB” for the Electronic Flight Bag Simulator Training. Therefore, if you have attended this course it is imperative that you submit a pay log for 4+30 credit hours. At this time, the Company is unable to provide us with an automation date for this being that their resources are currently engaged in the automation implementation schedule for the 2006 CBA.

The only classroom training we have for recurrent is Recurrent Ground School. The company can require any open book test, CBT or home study in lieu of RGS. In lieu is like instead, not like in addition to.
CBT in lieu of RGS is different than recurrent CBT. Are you saying that CBTs are home study and therefore required to be paid at 4:30? Its home study that gets the extra pay, not CBTs, which is addressed, pay wise, elsewhere.
Good luck, let us know how the grievance goes.

No grievance gonna come from this one.
