Parking 777s

On the plus side for you guys, I think it hauls somewhere in between what a 747-100 and 200 will, so it would be difficult for management to argue that it is anything but a widebody. The next question is, can you send it to arbitration if it becomes a beef, and would Fred "buy" the arbitrator by offering him/her a seat on the board in five years...

A little off the subject, but are the FDX 777's similiar to the -200 or the -300.
Are the frieghters going to have the same MTOW as the passenger birds.
Are freighters offered in both series (-200/-300)?
Thanks, sorry for the thread hijack.

We're getting the 777 Freighter which is based on the 777-200LR pax version.
Responding to strong demand from cargo operators around the world for an efficient, long-range, and high-capacity freighter, Boeing launched the Boeing 777 Freighter in May 2005 with a launch order from Air France. Bringing unsurpassed efficiency to long-haul markets, the 777 Freighter will fly farther than any other freighter, and will provide more capacity than any other twin-engine freighter. The 777 Freighter will be based on the technologically advanced 777-200LR Worldliner (Longer Range) passenger airplane, and is scheduled to enter service in fourth quarter 2008.

It's basically a -200 with -300 wing, gear, structure, etc and subsequently higher MTOW and range. I think the pax version is the 777-200LR and Airbus' competitor in the ultra long range market is the A340-500-neither of these versions of these a/c have sold well which is probably why Boeing has been amenable to making a 777 freighter after resisting for quite some time. It's heavier than the -11, but it appears that most of the weight is petro vs. freight-at max range at least.

New day new jet!
I don't think we are dumb enough as a group to fly this plane for the same pay. I think we have a lot of leverage when it comes to the new planes' pay scales. The company already knows they got a good deal with the B757 scales so I have to believe they are preparing for the start of another pay scale/A380 that already exists. Like someone noted above, we aren't even close to the United/Delta 2000 pay scales and our company makes a lot more money than they ever did. Overall a good problem to have.

Check your Standing BID do you have 777 as one of your choices?
If NO (and good on you) do you think every other Pilot on the LIST hasn't Bid it?
The main point of all this is: Show me a collective group of Pilots who WILL NOT BID it until there is a negotiated payrate and I will show you a Higher hourly rate than just Widebody.
Questions?
