Why not ? History is full of stories of greed turned to benevolence , from Ebenezer Scrooge to modern philanthropists à la Gates / Buffet. Of course he doesn’t have to , and probably won’t , just saying that he could. Maybe he’ll just spend all that accumulated wealth of billion$ on a shot at Mars , but let’s just hope he does some good for mankind with this enormous gift of wealth and power , opportunity and game changing resources.
History is watching you Jeff , let’s hope you do the right thing and do something that would make the ones you love and admire , to love and admire you. Merry Christmas.

No corporate executive is ever required to maximize profits. Some maximize growth, few maximize profit, and some simply come in and disassemble a company to reward themselves. Today, there is a stark difference between airline management styles that seek to build success and those that seek to maximize executive compensation.
But there is no legal requirement to maximize profit. If there were, there are a couple dozen airline executives who would have been found guilty recently.

Better accelerate your trash talk before your account gets suspended. Again.

Sorry to stir the pot...lol! I won't even bother directly addressing some of these thoughts, since its the same old argument.
By the way...I don't think any ATI pilot wants to be mentioned in this article....that was my point...the only pilot group not mentioned was ATI. The article is heavily slanted in favor of the disgruntled parties and only tells one side of the story.
The conditions at Atlas and ABX have been that way well before Amazon became a customer. If anything, as was already said, we should be thankful for the extra lift they are providing. That would be too easy for some though.
Much like ambulance chasing lawyers go after the deep pockets, so do these pilots. It makes no sense to go after a customer with your previous working conditions. All of the sudden, uncle Jeff is responsible for saving the day!
As someone else said in this thread, this is ACMI guys...if you don't think its right move on. Many of you state how this is the perfect time to get what we want with the shortage of pilots....hmmm...take your own advice...there are plenty of opportunities for pilots these days. Don't like your current gig...find a new one!
I started my flying career for a small regional many years ago and it wasn't what I expected. Pay was very low and the schedule was horrible. Instead of complaining I left the industry for some years and waited until things got better. You all know that this industry is more about timing than anything.
Finally, I had to chuckle when I read either on this thread or another related thread, someone pointing out how Amazon doesn't provide benefits to Amazon Flex drivers...Hah! You have got to be kidding me...really! Flex is a side gig like Uber or Lyft. Not many people do it full time. I for one am glad these p/t opportunities exist, that way I can choose to make some extra cash now and then when it works for me. Never expected Amazon to provide me with full benefits and a retirement for a side gig...seriously...incredulous!

These jobs are so great, our Mr Av8r apparently needs to make a little extra cash driving a van for Amazon.

You really are a miserable person aren't you? You don't know me and you are making assumptions about where I work and about why I choose to do what I do when I am not flying.
The best part of all is you are sitting behind a keyboard....easy to slam other people and make assumptions about their lives.
I never presumed to know anything about you or your cohorts except for what you plaster all over these threads. All I have ever stated is that if you do not like your lot in life....change your lot instead of sitting behind a keyboard griping about it.
That is the difference between you and I my friend. Call me optimistic, kool aid drinker or any other brave things you would like to say from behind that computer that hides your true identity.
I also think you need something to do...lol and before you point out me posting as evidence I need something to do...go look at how often I post on here and get back to me. You like calling people names don't you? Thought I was no longer in preschool.

Oh and you don't drive a van for Amazon Flex...those vans are owned and operated by independent business owners, many of which were previous employees of Amazon. They were given an opportunity to start their own delivery business with help from their former "evil" employer!
Shows how much you truly know. If you drive for Amazon Flex, you use your own car and drive when you want. Never said I NEEDED the money, just like doing different things outside of my flying gig.
