DW/ MEC Recall
#21
Bitching about Dave Webb decided FOR US without our input doesn't mean I won't support our crew force. This is not a cult with DW as our spiritual leader.
Nobody here has said they won't picket, strike, or will start picking up DPs. In fact, the maturity of 95% of the posters has been refreshing.
ALPA isn't going to die. Our MEC isn't going away. Pilots will take care of pilots. The issue of who we trust to lead OUR MEC however, may not yet be over.

If you are upset....FDX28 has this list going.
[email protected].
I didn't start it...but there's the email. If enough guys are angry enough to send in their names and emp numbers then I guess the list will get forwarded to the secretary/treasurer for appropriate action. If 25% don't sign up, the list will get buried and never see daylight.
I stewed on it. I prayed about it. I listened to a lot of inputs. But I put my name on the list. I'll support whatever happens, but I think rolling over without having our voices heard is wrong. So--as a member in good standing--I signed it.
Take whatever action you think is appropriate. I'll be on the team on the backside of this whatever happens...

I'm on the other side of this issue - Its gonna happen, regardless, and we better have a say in how it does - Therefore I have to trust the leadership this time (this is becoming politicians v. shoe clerks, and I have no interest in dealing with either). At least you have the courage to demonstrate your convictions. I admire you for that. Notwithstanding that, I still disagree. The big question of retro is still there, and its one that belongs at National, not at FDX, and that is a point of contention. I am, however, somewhat disturbed the ......"team on the backside" thing.

You misunderstand my meaning. Many sessions were closed door by necessity. Not much of a need for closed door sessions or mentality anymore. If it is a clearly contentious issue, it should be put out for advanced discussion. I would say going against the majority opinion is contentious as well as retroactivity. I understand rolling over on Age 60 because it's Washington's way, but did you hear about retroactivity Before DW's email? I would thing moral support would be welcomed.
I registered my voice/vote as part of the majority in the May 05 survey.
Yes, I'm have written, got the scripted reply with no additional justification included.
Can't argue with that one.

OK! Let's get back to the issue at hand: Recall, yes or no, do you trust DW or not? On this this issue, I do, for previously mentioned reasons. My one caveat is that we do do not use this "retro" issue as an inroad for every lawyer with: 3 ex-wives, no retirement plan, and a handful of "blue rockets" in Campinas!
