We’re in negotiations currently . If I remember correctly the union is working on retirement and work rules mainly .

Covid and the over supply of pilots sucks. This could have been a total gravy contract but the timing sucks now. I was thinking ATI would get to two contracts in the time it took ABX to get to one, but this second contract is going to be WAY better for the company than it should have been.

Then don’t vote it in. Other pilot groups are waiting for the storm to pass. Be a team player.

The ATI pilot group has always been pretty pragmatic. Not a fight it out to the death group. Could company find folks willing to work for what ATI is paying? Yes, and the move on options have gotten smaller. So some of the natural pressure / leverage is not there. Maybe make contract a bit shorter to get another bite at apple if/when things normalize. ATI has delivered and amazon is absolutely PRINTING money which makes this situation irritating I think.

Any contract being negotiated during covid and the slowdown need to be short and a holding action. Unfortunately to do that you have to play their game. So go in with a huge list of must haves, settle for current book for 4 years with 1% raises each year. If you go in being helpful because the company is suffering during COVID and just ask for current book, you'll end up with concessions. Most pilot unions use pilots as negotiators, and that's the first problem they should address. Yes, have a pilot there, but hire a real contract negotiator. Somebody who can tell them to go EFF themselves to their face and not fear retribution. Somebody who can march right out the door and go speak to the press and not be screwed over a company media policy. Oh, and in general never ever sign an NDA. They'll say they won't negotiate without one, then WALK OUT. Let the National Labor Relations Board and the Government force them back to the table as the lawful representative of the pilots.

lmao.

Consider the source of this advice. It's HORRIBLE advice. Now we know management is truly the Devil.

First of all, the NLRB has nothing to do with pilot contracts. It's the NMB.

Second, ATSG, the parent company of ATI, is knocking it out of the park between their deals with Amazon, DHL and the U.S military. It's not like there is any shortage of money.

ATI needs to be asking for whatever FDX and UPS have. Full stop.

I'm going to chuckle when ATI pilots end up offering concessions for the next CBA.

I will certainly concede that there are some twisted senses of humor out there, so I'm not speaking for you personally, but I would say that you have a better chance of getting a rolling belly laugh while watching C-Span.

Just remember there will always be some idiot that will come on here and say the wildest things. If ATI gains only 1 thing they will say its a concession contract. 10 gains? Not good enough and they will still claim concessions. Dollar amount increase not big enough? They will say that ATI pilots sold out and therefore hurt all pilot groups. It really is a moving goal post.

Sadly the airlines are taking a beating and the pilots are put into the unenviable position of concessions and or furloughs. I watch what is happening and though I may not agree with what each pilot group has chosen I understand it’s their contract and their livelihood. Most pilots would agree to some extent I think. But ATI on the other hand... oh boy if it isn’t the contract that other airlines thinks we should agree to, well now, let the APC ripping begin!
