Open time is in a pot, and you can request it. They’ll usually just say “Thanks, we will put you on the list”. No one seems to know exactly what that list is or how it’s determined who gets it. Myself and others never get anything we put in a request for, some people are able to stay out on open time constantly.

Pay depends. For working on your day off, you get volunteer (VOL) pay of 4 hours. If you’ve worked over 16 days in the month, you also get 3.75 hours of RIG pay. So you can either make 4 hours of pay or 7.75 hours ( 4 VOL + 3.75 RIG= 7.75), depending on how many days you’ve been out.

My understanding is that recent interviewees (1 month or so ago) were told that the next class may be in January 2021, by company representatives at the briefing prior to the interview segment of the day.

Dec 14 would be great but this seems to enter the Christmas and into New Year time frame and is also during "peak." Not saying it is impossible but I wonder how many company employees will be available to support classes during that time frame.

Good Luck to all.

I personally don’t see a December class happening.

However if there will be sim availability in January then ya I guess it’s possible. The class may get drug out a little but certainly doable. I think it boils down to any changes to anticipated new aircraft.

That doesn't sound right. I was Oct '19 interview and didn't get called for a class till Sept '20. So anyone interviewed in Oct of '20 is probably way back in the pool.

Does anyone know, if you have to pass on a class date, are you top of the list for the following class?

As far as I understand, each candidate is ranked. In your interview group you were all ranked. Now the question is: as new candidates are interviewed, does your ranking get diluted (or propelled) by the new candidates? In other words, if you just barely got into the pool, and a new interview group are superstars, will you remain at the bottom of the pool? I think the answer is yes. I don’t think that you get any sort of leverage just because you interviewed first.
But that’s just my guess.

Ok, just trying to feel out the process. I've been called for a class before and had to pass due to being in the process of moving and the timing didn't work. Was hoping that I'd be called for the following class, which apparently are being called this week. So fingers crossed here that a bunch of SuperStars didn't just show up! lol

Yes, ironically emailed them the day before they sent the email about the Dec class, just to check in. They said they would be sending an email out with an update, which they did yesterday morning. So fingers crossed here as its been a year since the initial interview.
