According to the HR Team at the May Air Inc. conference in Atlanta (Sharnika Chandler and Pam Lee), the online hiring window is set to open in September.
During their brief, they tried to squash some rumors.
#1. ANC isn't the only domicile (or airframe .. MD11 747) with shortages.
#2. Their pilot shortage isn't temporary (ie. MD11 and 747 slots in ANC). Not only do they have to fill those, they also have some significant retirement numbers even if Age 60 was passed today in other areas.
I hope this helps. Of course, that was the situation back in May at Air Inc., who knows what is going on today.

Just to throw in two cents,
An HR person told me OCT will be the last class for the year, and I also heard Sept, the window will re-open and then again after peak...January-ish.
I would guess the MD11 hiring will moderate due to the backlog of folks already hired but are awaiting simulator and the like. In addition, the bad luck/bad planning/bad karma surrounding the MD11 simulators has slowed down the initial training requirements, but also the folks scheduled to receive recurrent, transistion, upgrade, and those getting landings/requal.
When are we going to announce the 777 order ???

Heard a couple rumors today. One good, two bad.
The 767 order will be upped to 41 from 27.
The MD 11 sim has one more shot at being fixed and certified or it's done, finito, trash.
Due to the MD11 sim situation, there will be no more new hire classes after July.
I find the last one hard to believe since we're short on all fleets.

The pool at UPS is now a little shallower. I got the call from HR last week and they said I am slated for the July 31st class. Anyone else scheduled for that date?
They didn't give me any specifics, but I got the sense that there were going to be positions available in all domiciles. I live in SDF so I'm hoping that is where I end up.
