It's Sharnika - just so you know, Phil D. sent a message to all active pilots saying STAY AWAY FROM HR about your buddies... it could hurt you!!

FD, thanks for this thread and trying to get our questions answered.
It seems there are many of us that have been thrown into that "on file" category. I assumed that the reason this happened to me (back in January when I got my app in) was because my avail date wasn't until May. Well, May has come and gone, and I still haven't heard anything, so apparently it wasn't my avail date.
So, what exactly causes one app to go "active" and one to go "on file"? Does it have something to do with the mystical score of 1 to 8?
I was told that if you are "on file", HR doesn't even know who you are. Your application is lingering in the depths of the web server of some contract HR company in Atlanta who is receiving and sorting the applications. I also heard that all the "on file" applications would be looked at before the end of the year and the annual "dumping of the apps" prior to opening the application the following calendar year.
How much of this is accurate?
Thanks!

Thanks FD, here's mine:
1. What is the status of a guy who gets the "thanks, but we have many qualified applicants, blah, blah" message after the online assesment, then goes from "active" to "on file"? Is he out of the running entirely? Just for the year? What should his next steps be?

Better question... If in receipt of this message, have they secretly made it into the sarcastic "apply all you want" category?

Question for HR
Dear Freight Dog,
My application for a flight officer position at UPS shows "active" on the company website, and I updated my resume online. I first applied December 2006, and have not heard a word. Is it required to submit a new application? I meet more than the minimums, have international 767 time, and I am a current 737 Captain. I am very interested in being a UPSer, and open to any suggestions.
With every good wish,
Larry Harmacinski

Trouser,
I'm a Herc guy too and the same thing happened to me. Maybe the lack of heavy jet?? I'll let you know if I hear anything. I'm around 5000TT, 2000TPic and all the international blocks checked, no internal recs as of yet.

I took the psych test back in March but haven't heard anything since the " good " response about the test. Any word on how they choose from the folks who have taken the test?

Larry - wish you the best but I don't think posting your name and your phone number is the best thing to do. Thousands of people reads those threads -personally I think it's safer to PM someone but that's just me. Maybe I'm a little paranoid, I don't know? Either way good luck to you!
