So, did he lie to me, or is he just that clueless that he dosn't know what his fleet has?
Was his mouth moving

My guess would be that both apply. He didn't have a clue, so he lied.

At last count we think there will be 8 Captains, 6-8 FO's, and 17 FE's going over to SAI.

Good luck to all that go over. I was offered my job back in Sept but declined. I told them that nothing had changed policy wise to warrant my return. When I heard through the grapevine that 360s' scheduling was coming over I called Southerns Chief pilot and told him I'd like to comeback in the recurrent class he had offered. He was less than enthusiastic about that! As the recurrent starts tomorrow it doesn't look like that will happen.
Hey at least I got to keep the Groovy leather Jacket......

Well the final numbers are in! Welcome to the folks that decided to come to SAH.....See you on the line soon....I hope all that decided not to come get what they are looking for. I for one wish more had opted to come. We need quality crewmembers and they are getting harder and harder to come-by.

What were the final numbers? It takes 30G to train a new hire, so why not give me 30G to come over. Just a thought.

8 Captains (One is waiting to hear the final on another job, and two have interviews coming up, another is waiting on recall)

6 FO's (Two are waiting to hear the final word on jobs)

17 FE's

Their maybe a few more but I have not heard yet.

What is your staffing rate per airframe? I see six more airframes by july of next year, how many do you have to hire to fill those spots? I know you are short now, how many do you have to hire to make up for that short fall?

What I looked for was money. By taking my severance I was dollars ahead. Some of us looked at the break even point its over two years down the road with the severance package, ie start at SA as a new hire with the severance vs transitioning to SA with the signing bonus and my seniority. Those who transitioned as FO (thats what I am) and made Captain in six months vs me as a new hire and making Captain in a year. It will take those FO's two to two and half years to make up the money. I think then need for crew members is going to tougher and tougher to find in the future as you have stated. Besides Neff could have paid us a transition bonus based on the savings they will incur with the C360 guys going though the short two week transition ground school vs the seven week full meal deal.
