I hate to quote myself but got the letter and there are no surprises. Seniority list is a little messed up. They decided to go by date of hire for those who were at Cargo 360 for more than a year, Date of Class start for those less than a year. That clearly worked in SAI's favor as we had classes starting just after theirs did in one case. But these same people were hired at C360's before the SAI folks were hired at SAI.

Other than that, I lose my Check Airman status, no pay raises till 2011 (But I will be earning more than the guys who got hired at SAI a year before I did until 2010 - then were even).

Our scheduling is going over to SAI. This I believe is good news for SAI folks. They say they will split up some of the lines so guys are only gone 8-10 days. But I believe these lines will go senior to me.

To all my friends at SAI... I wish you the best. Because this is a no brainer for me.

Question The Blender Turns!

Hey Dutch,

Have you heard if there will be an offer letter forth coming? Will crew transition with the airframes?

What are you hearing about differences training for consolidation of operational procedures? When will crew scheduling responsibilities transfer?

We are not getting much at this end either.

We received the Email offer this evening. As Dutch said no surprises. I don't know how many crew will accept the offer and or when the A/C will be heading over to SA. We have heard nothing of consolidation of operational procedures. I have heard Crew scheduling will happen Nov 1.

Most of this stuff in the letter could change depending on the SACG vote on the side letter to your contract, which we heard was to be on the 15th of Oct?

My understanding is the crews will transition with the airplanes. I have one source at C360 HQ telling me the first acft goes over 1 Dec with crews going to training in Nov. Yet Gillies implies the final C360 acft will be under SAI's ops specs not until March 2008. This suggest the first acft will not go till the end of Dec. And crews for said acft will not go over for SAI training till Dec(instead of November).

As far as differences/consolidation goes, there is none. It will be done under SAI's ops spec which mean SAI procedures. So of course there will be differences training for SAI crews for Pratt Power, Litton 72's and ACARS. But for C360 crews, they have to go through Indoc and the full ground school like a new hire; since SAI has no short course approved by the Feds.

Gillies implies in the letter that they want to have RS Aviation scheduling in place by the end of this year.

If I were you an SAI guy, I would expect a handful of pilots to come over and 8-10 FE's. Thats my guess.

They all should have gone by date of class start. Most of us would have a lot different seniority if we went by interview/job offer date.

Yes, and we thank you for it.

That is a lot more than we expected.

What's up with the SACG getting the 5/10K transition bonus too? How has/will their life been disrupted? Infact, I think their life has only gotten better out of the deal. For example; new scheduler, -400s, 777 in a few years, 3 newer/better airplanes. The only negative I can see on their part is they will have to go to class for a day or two, to fly the Pratt engines, and a few people will loose an insignificant amount of sienority...big deal!

C360 guys are loosing an incredible amount of seniority, 100% of their check airmen status, they have to go to re-training on SA procedures, do IOE all over again, most likely loose out on the -400s/777, pay cut in the form of no DH pay for the new guys, frozen pay scales for the next 4 years, not too mention all the intangable headaches of simply being forced to change companies. Not to mention the fact that they have to now work for those shysters the Neffs and all their yes man cronies.

So, again, why does the SACG deserve a $5000/$10000 bonus just for showing up and doing what they always do anyways?

Don't gt me wrong, I'm glad they were able to squeeze blood from the turnip. Good for them, as people, but seems a bit unfair to, in effect say that the pain/trouble of the merger for the SACG is in any way similar to what the folks at C360 are about to feel.

I don't see how this bonus has any negative impact on C360 Pilots. If the SAI guys get the same thing, who cares? Hell, I wouldn't even care if they got more of a bonus. If it makes them happy, and not resentful towards C360 guys, let them have it.

That bonus money looks and smells like hush money to just go along with the merger, and to not make any waves to delay the integration. If the SAI guys get it, good for them, nice little perk. In the big scheme of things, it's coke money, nothing more.
