Predictions for the Purple Poolies

FDXLAG....that about sums it up. And it did cost us something. Half of our scope payments.....and then some unquantifiable amount....but no less than 5 cents an hour. In my opinion money well spent.
Two downsides, Hillarycare and the guys that got the debit card that won't "GO AWAY".
Some refer to VEBA as accurately as they refer to the "SVT"....they just biatch cause other's are Biatching......
FDXLAG....if you don't like the dues, and VEBA, I'll offer you the same deal... send me your last payraise, I'll pay your VEBA, and your dues.
A guy wouldn't have to do many more of these till he made the Memphis housing allowance for the three paid members of the MEC! Hey I think I got a better deal than DW!

Deal, as soon as you show me that hidden money.
I have never said I don't like VEBA, I have just said I'd will be willing to negotiate it away. I don't think I have ever b!tched about my dues (maybe what they bought).

Scooby snack
Dude,
The Scooby snack has a value,
Just think of how many of them go to school the next day in a brown paper bag. For our crewmembers living in Montana and Idaho, it is much cheaper than stocking your "Red Dawn" shelter with those instead of MREs.

My 3% pay raise was quickly absorbed by our "Pay For Training" provision. After two training cycles this year (MD-11) I had two five day trips taken away from me for a total of 50 credit hours of BLG. In its place, I received a whopping 18 credit hours for training. That left a deficit of 32 creidt hours of BLG, exceeding my pay raise this year. Now of course, I could go into open time and make up the loss ON MY OWN TIME. So for two months each year, MD-11 guys get shafted on senority and BLG, unless of course you enjoy working on your days off to get what you were entitled in the first place via senority bid.
Add to this procedure, the fact that you have to bid for training days. What this means is that after you are awarded your line BASED ON SENORITY, the company then takes away your senority by dropping a trip they select and paying you less than half the value of said trip, save for, as in my case, one day. The company blocks out a day each side of training which they DO NOT COMPENSATE YOU FOR! And, even if you are the senior guy bidding training that month, you still don't necessarily have senority in training day selection, as the compnay will put a junior guy into your chosen slot if he is in his grace month, depending on his junior schedule!
How we as a crew force let this ALPA good deal go through I still haven't figured out.
Moreover, we were told emphatically by our Rep right up to the last week of negotiations that the B plan was "Locked in at 9%," and that that alone was enough to vote for this contract. So this obviously our 9% B fund was given up for something else (VEBA maybe?)
No matter how you slice it, this contract has more holes than a fine Wisconsin swiss cheese. And now, our illustrious ALPA group is allowing the company to dictate "further negotiations" outside of the proscribed procedures. Perhaps we need a law suit against ALPA for misrepresentation and violation of the RLA?
