Age 65 here we go...
#41
I have had multiple Captains tell me they will retire before the age is changed to 65 in order to avoid the retiring early penalty and the tax hit to their B funds inherent in the age change. According to the bill, "This Act shall take effect on the date that is 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act." How many days notice do you have to give the company if you are planning to retire?

"I don't know how we are going to survive on only FE pay when he turns 60 in a few months. We won't be able to make ends meet and pay the mortgage with only that and his military retirement ..."

There's your proof ...

Is there any further question concerning the unreliability and utter deceipt of ALPA. This move just cost every FO and SO five or so years of CAPT pay...and we're paying dues for this!!!!! Well, maybe not for long!

what about VEBA - 50 cents an hour is given up for nice pots of money for those reaching a certain age....now they can work - and be covered/pay for regular medical coverage - for 5 more years. where's all that money going? are they going to push the age up 5 years to get it?
