Yes, furlough is a hollow threat. But the company has stated they want "additional changes in BLG levels". Before the union sells out the pilots in the over manned aircraft I think we should get something.

Brilliant!!
But, it's much more fun to actually become a proponent of hysteria.

Also, can you imagine the happiness of the CONUS based guys if they have the FDA's flying full BLG and reduce the rest of us to 48/60 !

In an earlier life, I was a senior technical consultant for Nixdorf Computer Corporation, a German Based, mini & mid-sized computer manufacturer. Everything was going along fine, when they introduced a new type of computer. Management came to the technical staff asking for volunteers to learn this new system. Only one (out of 8 in my office) said "Yes". 6 months later, at exactly the same time, in every Nixdorf office across the country, a meeting was held, in which slightly more than 50% of us, nationally, were let go. Except of course those guys who had learned the new computer. The point being, you pay your money and you take your chances. There are no guarantees in this life. You have to live with your decisions, and without being able to predict the future, we all make lots of really dumb ones, especially when looked at in hindsight.

I'd hope so. They've got an increasingly difficult job which will only get harder. And for their efforts, most of the DPs seem to get flown anyway. As far as I'm concerned, they stand out as ALPA folks who actually earn my dues money.
