Having been military, corporate, charter, commercial passenger and now cargo I can say with irrational exhuberance that this job beats working for a living!

I believe that they are all contract pilots to the companies that provide the feeder flying, so you might have to ask them. From what I've seen here in Connecticut, the feeder guys fly in, off/onload their freight, hang around for a while and then leave, single pilot, for a number of stops before flying back to their base. They spend each day at home, and the ones that I've talked to seem to like their jobs. I believe they are paid a salary as opposed to how the rest of the FedEx pilots get paid.

Ahhh, I see - so even though there are Caravans sitting there with FEDEX written on them the planes and pilots are supplied by subs?
I thought that was UPS doing that?

Yeah ! Right !

The 'diversity' crap worked really well with Auburn Calloway, now, didn't it?

WONDER who HIS sponsor was? Got a feeling he was hired for the purposes of 'diversity'. . only . ..with NO background checks. IF they HAD checked, there were plenty of reliable folks with 'the story' out there. . but no one checked. They were putting an 'x' in the box - for 'diversity'.

'Diversity' is killing this country. Ask Gov. Lamm (ex CO)

Need to stick with the tried and true model. It works. (besides . .I prefer to fly with military guys . .I know they are standardized -and tell better stories)

The planes are owned by Fedex and leased to various small cargo carriers around the country. Just like the intra-Canada flying is done in Fedex 727s leased to a firm called Morningstar.

So, a guy still flying at another carrier wants his flight mgmt contacted by Fedex pilot hiring to verify his claimed flying time? Hope he doesn't tank the interview and have to stay at his current job.

Also, having been there twice, if a carrier has shut it's doors, flight and training records are hard to get ahold of.

I don't think that's the " diversity " he's talking about. Stick to telling us your boring stories about towel-slapping your squadron buddies.

There's more than one company that operates the feeders for us, but Mountain Air Cargo is one of the bigger ones.
