I think ANC is a bit of a wildcard in this mix. Lots of very junior FOs. Why get excessed to a narrow body when you can go to ANC??? Yeah, its a tough commute, but probably not as tough as a paycut.... or am I missing something obvious here?

I'm not looking at a contract right now, but I believe that if it ever did go to a furlough ( I don't think it will with the 777 on it's way and the 20 crew per airplane that they are talking about in the training dept) there is no draft and volunteer allowed as per the CBA.

Actually, I think you're right. But do you think for one minute that this crew force could resist picking anything extra up when it is available???

Is it possible CDG was cancelled because Fedex and DHL are going to form some kind of partnership here in the U.S. and in Europe? Rumors in yellowville(ILN) indicate the DHL/Fedex talks are on again.

Default Multiple Factors

I bet there are a lot of reasons for the cancellation. Possibly some sort of deal with DHL, very likely we can't get the 757s fast enough and need to deploy them in the US first to get rid of the 727s sooner with gas prices where they are. Not to mention the psychological warfare towards us junior guys to get us to think about bidding HKG.

By the way, why would they excess off of the right seat of the 727 to the back. We're so fat here? The cost would be high given the training costs.

Only those that agree to the bottom of the senority list and accept being based in CDG. What timing would that be?

We are attempting to hide the extra bodies in training. Cheaper than furlough.

I think we will see A300 trainees, MD 11 FO, B727 FO and SO trainees. Guys flowing up as well as down.

Okay, thanks, that makes some sense. I guess I'm going to keep going backwards, R-24 for all.
