I hope you do not feel they should be taken before the poolies. After being in the pool for about a year and a half, I think I'm about to drown.

As an Astar guy, I can appreciate both sides of the equation here. Personally, when the weight challenged lady sings, I'm out of flying. This industry is no longer worth putting up with. Having said that, the last thing that is needed in this industry is the creation of 50-100 new hire jobs at UPS, at the cost of putting another 1000 qualified jet pilots on the street. (Who, by the way, are the #3 and 4 highest paying flying jobs in the country right now.) I appreciate Miller's request to UPS to give preferential whatever to ABX/Astar crewmembers, but he can't make them do it. I'd be seriously surprised if they did. If I were a UPS poolie, I wouldn't be worried about it.

I feel for you guys. A friend was just pushed out the door over there a few sims short of finishing training. Personally I left UAL after 10 years because it in my opine had no future. I don't blame you at all for getting out of this industry.
The thing everyone needs to be aware of is that pilots didn't do this to pilots, so don't sh!t all over guys on your jumpseat because of anger that should be directed elsewhere.

Nobody is that I'm aware of. As to "pilots didn't do this to pilots", uh, that's what I said in my post. However, it still remains that with UAL furloughing 950and combined 1000 plus from Astar/ABX, 50-100 jobs from a UPS expansion flying DHL material is hardly reason for rejoicing. The market is now saturated with high time jet pilots out of a job. I'm looking at the industry as a whole, not just a handful of new jobs at UPS.
