Here's another interesting tidbit...once the payrate is negociated, how many of the over sixty crowd is going to get passover pay because they can't fly with ANY of the over sixty captains, so they aren't allowed to bid it. And yes, I do believe it will be the oldest crew force on property....

Unfortunately, seems to usually be A) too fast and departs surface or B) other cars hit them at intersection. My next door neighbor has a rice rocket and a BMW, and he regularly rides in the Smokies. He's pretty hard core, but says the most dangerous riding is on the beach here where folks and sightseeing and not paying attention...

JJ,
I really don't care who gets passover pay or not, I just thought It would be interesting(a tidbit) to think about the fact that if the left seat has numerous over 60 capt's, and the right does also...then at what point does the company have to step in and "pass over" the FO's to ensure the plane can fly international. I think there are numerous people who are going to bank that the guys in the left seat will go to training, and they will get passover to not go. As a young guy, I don't want to go to training either, but I know I have at least one more cycle in me. Either way, I think Albie has a point about the bid and what we represent

I always thought that seniority issues take care of themselves, with the exception of flight management, LCA's, flex guys, etc. If someone is savvy enough to manage to get himself passover pay, good on him. If it comes at someone elses expense, than that's an issue, otherwise it's not, at least in my opinion. By the way, if a lot of over-60 guys end up on the 777, and they can't fly together, it would seem to me that the company will have to increase their staffing model for that aircraft, thereby adding some younger, less senior guys to the jet. Guys whose seniority would not have allowed them to be awarded a 777 seat. Is that not a good thing?
