Default FDX- Mandate for next NC Chair

Lots of debate on http://www.airlinepilotforums.com/cargo/ on why NC Chair is gone.

What is the MEC looking for in a new NC Chair that will be different than the old one? Didn't see that info in the message line.

777 deal instead of going to arbitration?

Min BLG relief for furlough mitigation?

No focus on mitigation at all?

As many have expressed, this situation has raised more questions than it has answered. These questions are objective and it would be good to know where FDX negotiations are going. It is not, in any shape or form, an attack on any individual involved.

Is it too much to ask where we are headed?

Don't forget to include, "You better vote for it, it's the best we can get. We have no negotiating capital."

I've received 2 e-mails requesting applicants for NC Chair.

Assuming Chair applicants don't know any more than the average union member---

Why would someone sign up for NC Chair when they don't know what is expected or what will get them fired?

Spoke with my block rep who said there at least three guys in the running for NC chair that he considers just as qualified and experienced as FE. Only name I remember is a negotiating team member JI. FWIW. And, as unpopular as the sentiment is, I suggest we get behind whoever the new one is the same way we supported FE. It can't hurt. While I do think something "shady" went on with the whole FE thing, it behooves us to move on. I'm not saying forget about it...I'm just saying we need to keep looking forward. Unfortunately, it's a done deal, the resignation is in and can't be undone. Moving forward will benefit us all.

FE had said last week, if called on by the Membership, he will return to work as the Neg. Chair., but not much has changed with the same political pressure from above so I think we can rule that out.

I like that idea. I hate when we blink first and we always do.

Negotiating Committee Chairman Opening

Currently, the Negotiating Committee Chairman position is open. Any member interested in being considered for this position should contact MEC Secretary-Treasurer First Officer Wes Reed at the MEC office or by email to [email protected].
Must be willing to be bent over and thrown away like yesterday's news.

How about FE for MEC Chair? That would be justice.
