That is a good clarification.
If you deviate you only get the "regular" SWA ticket price for bank.
You can book your deviation on Business select because that fare price and class of service is "authorized." But your bank may not cover the authorized expense.
Got it now..

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you do NOT get the "business select" fare when deviating on WN. All WN deadheads will be booked in "business select" and the company will pay the "select" price. If you deviate you only get the "regular" ticket price. This is a quote from the June 08 SIG letter.
Southwest Business Select: This was intended for scheduled deadheads on SWA as a way to alleviate some of the pain, especially on the mid-trip SDDHs that were prevalent at the time it was established. CTS should still book all scheduled SWA DHs with business select when available, however, the accepted fare (and your bank) will only reflect the cost of a basic ticket (w/o Business Select).
If you deviate on SWA, you can request Business Select, but the total cost of the ticket will be charged against your bank.

1) The accepted fare will be the cost of the basic ticket.
2) If you deviate, and use Business Select, the TOTAL cost of the ticket will be charged against your BANK.
Am I wrong on this? This would be fine with me as I had the $ in my deviation bank; they just STILL refuse to pay for the Business Select portion of the ticket.
Guess I will know soon as I have emailed my ACP and the SIG. I will report back as soon as I get a final answer, just in case anyone else has to deal with this!
Oh and thanks for the Avatar, AerisArmis...check it out

Just Quit Dude
I really feel all your guys pain! My company wont even consider an upgrade until after 18 hours of duty, and when that happens they just split the leg up and lay us over somewhere to break it into 2 flights to avoid the upgrade, middle seat, back of coach, no FF miles!
How do you guys deal with the horror?
