FDX - Jetflyer says furlough
#111
Well, there's chunkylove again...and I just threw up in my mouth.
Imminent? That wasn't in the emails from the company I was reading. Think they said still a 'possibilty'.
Also, invoking section 4-yadda-yadda-yadda can be used to 'prevent or delay a furlough'...not 'we're going to furlough'.

Yes. I have it on good authority that the infidels have been defeated and this will lead to mass layoffs at FedEx. All flying will be replaced by trucks and Irish pilots that will be trained in these 727 sims you are hearing about. A red letter will mailed shortly with all details. In the meantime please enjoy some music and thanks to all of you helping me spread the fear!
Sincerely,
Minister of FedEx Pilot Information

If flight ops mngment doesn't make the decisions, and they are really smart people, why did the put a 1 in the 727 s/o excess of bid 08-02?
That enabled all the 60+ s/os to return to the front seats where their seniority would hold- without a vacancy bid- while flt ops mngment stated that we were already overmanned!
The knowlingly executed a decision that would 1) increase the already overmanned ssituation, 2) increase crew costs ( a 727 s/o is cheaper than a WB CAP/FO) 3) increase training cycles ( the s/o returning to the overmanned seats) and possibly adding to the excesses (causing more training for downward dispalcements.
If they are so smart why would they knowingly execute a decision with zero business merits, no revenue enhancement, and increased costs.

Just to correct the record. Bid 8-02.. 50 Excess from the 727 S/O seat in addition to 50 out of 727 F/O and 30 727 Capt. And by my count at least 26 crew members out of the back seat were well under 60... like under 5 years of Seniority. I agree with the rest of your post and how management created this problem.. I just wanted it to be accurate. Bid 8-03 was the first (and last so far) time management used the -1 in a large number of seats.. And we all see how well that worked for them.
