What we call "draft" and "volunteer" at FDX, is not counted toward the cap at Delta, last I heard. It's for pay only, not credit hours.
Makes sense to me...Gives Delta flexibility if they want to pay for it. Does anyone remember when volunteer at FDX was paid at 50% ? Not 150%...But, 50%. What a legacy.

Yeah-- despite my best efforts-- my personal favorite x-tra time/draft piggy is still sloppin' away. He doesn't understand why I won't take his calls anymore.
I thought we'd gotten thru to him a couple of years ago when we got him to stop. Reinforced the last few months but NOOOOOOO.... Feb is a very busy month... just like Dec..... hardly a day off and I'm sure much on draft as he never says NO.

Just spoke with my Delta buddy. They are capped at 75-82 hours BLG depending on the month and needs of the company (It changes during the year based on load factors).
Their draft is called a "green slip". They CAN NOT "green slip" until they have gotten their full monthly BLG cap. This makes sure the playing field is leveled so some folks with lower BLG can pick up open time before the "Air *****s".
In a pinch the company (Delta) can call out a crew for "premium pay" at 150% on a as needed basis. This is monitored openly by the Union.
WOW...what a concept ! A little leadership at FedEx and ALPA and we could have an LOA in effect to protect the pilots and the company.........
Opps......I used the word leadership. Isn't it interesting that Mangement on both sides of the coin get their 98 credit hours each month.
Do as I say....not as I do boys......now suck it up and go out there and win one for the Gipper.

"We have an even more significant problem when management states their ambivalence to address Carryover while they lament their staffing level. Management does not want to stop Carryover, from their standpoint to do so would create inefficiencies in the system and cost money."
So in sum, the Union is aware of the carryover inefficiency that would "save or create" 600+ jobs, *****ing about the leadership of the Union is a waste of time, IMO.

Hey, run for MEC chairman, then wow us with your brilliant leadership! You sound more Messianic than Barry Soeterra, uh, I mean Obama! Sounds like you could have us all straightened out in a week or two! You have my vote.

I would love to see an appropriate carryover solution but watch out for the unintended consequences. Gaining a small amount of control over training schedules last contract cost probably 100+ jobs in terms of productivity as a result of the increased training on days off. I know it is time to close ranks and all, but lately the NC/MEC goons up everything it touches.

As a preamble...let me say I have never flown a DP. As Elvis would say...."Thank you, thank you very much." So that should force a couple of you to put the arrows back in the quiver.
However...comma.... I have real gripe with a couple things going on here.
For starters.......Why the heck is our Union leadership allowing even the slightest crack in our solidarity by continuing to slop at the trough in excess of 90 hours while we take the sudz bath with less than 60 hours? I know, I know...they work full time and we don't want them exerting less effort as a result of taking a significant pay cut(like the rest of us). After all, since we've "pushed away from the table until openers for the CBA" I'm sure they are overwhelmed with editing the numerous grievances submitted to bring their comrades back up to pre-4.a.2.b days. Must be all the time they're putting into getting elected to the NEXT MEC.
Also...why the heck are guys on this forum blasting other guys for flying make-up (which btw is money due to them for past flying turned back in to open time) when we got Union leadership not absorbing anything close to the collective pain the rest of us are going through? I've actually seen guys get slammed here for flying a 80 hour line after picking up a makeup trip when our Union leadership gets a pass because they are "out front leading the fight".
And the same old tired argument about the Union not being "allowed" to mention not flying open time due to "work-action ramifications" yet DW and his consigliaris continue to bring in more than 90 hours a month...with additional perks. Sorry guys but..I ain't buying it.
Until OUR Union leadership announces they will accept nothing more than fleet average to represent us...my simple a$$ will continue to pick up as much open time as I possibly can.. you don't like it....beat me to the trigger and pick the trip up before me...or ask the Pope and his buddies to share our pain with us. Until then....I have already taken approximately a 35% pay cut to keep guys off the street when 4.a.2.b was invoked. I'm sorry the folks we look to for guidance continue to ignore the masses and cash their less-then-impacted paychecks..at our expense.

Ham,
I think that the reps had a resolution that lowered there pay. That being said, I can understand your difficulty to get motivated to hold the line when a rep bids the 777 after all the supposed implied messages not to.
