PC said expansion in HKG...I would expect some new capts there, maybe 10, add another 15 FO's(so we are some 30 vacancies...)

As for the flush...I think the bottom 30 FO's of the 11 are going, maybe bottom 15-20 Capt's. As for the bus, bottom 60 FO's and 40 Capt's.

I think the biggest push from the whole message will be to get HKG filled. Without that, I think toilet lever will keep getting pulled, until the turd goes down(along with some of the bottom guys via furlough to get what they want).

Honestly, with the way the company has acted with the blg reduction, I wouldn't be overly suprised to see a furlough out of seniorty. Company's response would be greive it, by then, the bump and flush would leave you the option to go to HKG, or get back in line for another flush...

MEC Vice DM specifically addressed this last week at an LEC mtg - said company has said they will not furlough out of seniority (they agree that it is a contract violation)

Do you think the company would "plus up" HKG by 20 FOs who might be a little more senior just so they could furlough the bottom 5-10 who are in the bottom 300?

Due to the large size of the Excess Posting that was canceled, expect the company to come out with a much smaller version of an Excess Bid.
If they plan on doing it in 2 bids, one of them is going to be large. I don't think they plan on having anyone go to training until at least 30 days after the final excess bid, so the costs should be pretty much within whatever range that they've forecast internally. Their 'living training letter' idea pretty much allows them to manipulate the costs regardless of individual bid size.

I'm sorry but if I were in the bottom 200-400 pilots I'd be looking hard and heavy at a back up plan and expect to be on the street by the end of summer
Besides the fact that many of us seem to be in more of a rush to furlough ourselves than the company is, I don't think those numbers are realistic over that time frame. If the process started tomorrow and went off without a hitch, we're looking at the early-mid May for a training letter, and I'd guess that the first training dates will be more than 30 days later to allow them the flexibility to cancel awards if they want to for whatever reason. So we're likely looking at at sometime in June before training actually starts on this mess and you're thinking 200-400 out of here by the end of August? If they do a furlough, it's going to have to be a large one to make it worth it, but I think they'll dip there toes in the water and go relatively slowly to see if it's what they really want.

So what makes us any different? Nothing.
I agree with you there, we aren't above the fray.

According to RGS. 10 percent loss of airbus Capt. Miniscule MD11 Capt.
That would mean about 70 to 80 airbus capt. and who knows on md11.

I am not sure how anything changes on this. None of the HKG Capts can be pushed out so it can't go more Senior as far as POP is concerned. Of the new guys going, I would expect most of them are already WB Capts. But we will see.

My guess, we will see the 10 new slots filled by guys excessed out of ANC or the Bus and al the POP guys will still be eligible. Unless DW's recent deal changed things dramatically.
