I would think in the box hauling business it is unwise to cross a picket line even as a non-union carrier. Teamsters have a wide net and if your company crosses a picket line it might find itself having trouble getting future contracts. I know the big guns (UPS/FedEx) have such strong unions that any contract work with them might be at risk. That might be enough to get all but the nastiest companies to stay clear.

But like the previous posters said, there are lots of excuses including the personal safety card to play. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard for them to find someone else to fly it and they won't have the headache of firing a pilot using the safety defense.

Arrow Directions

For those that need directions to the location mentioned in some previous posts:

1) Amerijet's Cargo City Facility--
6185 NW 18th St
Miami, FL 33126

Generic directions from the Palmetto Expressway/State Route 826 (the Palmetto is the main north/south corridor that isn't I-95):
Exit on NW 25TH St going east
Turn right (south) on NW 67TH Ave
Turn left on NW 22ND St
Follow this to the end; the road will curve turn right after the control tower
Make the first left turn onto NW 18th Street
Towers A and B are the ones usually used by Amerijet

Thanks,

.

The Palmetto Expressway is the main drag that runs East-West just south of the airport. You can't miss it. Exit the airport South on LeJeune and it's the first major intersection to the south. (LeJeune is the North-South drag on the East side of the airport)

Once again, sorry for being ignorant on this subject, i am just curious.

Stand strong AJT guys! It takes alot of courage and strength to do what you are doing and it WILL pay off! I cant be there in person to show support but I have a check ready for when a fund is set up.
Bueller? Anyone? Us regional boys don't know squat about hauling stuff that doesn't whine/squeal like a stuck pig
