Yes an internal rec is a must have and no they won't hire below mins. If you can get a management rec, it's even better.

A very good thing is an understatement. I have heard they now have over 10,000 resumes on file. Knowing someone in management is about the only way to get yourself in the interview stack.

Not true at all, UPS. Having 2 or more recommendations plus meeting the minimums is what somebody needs. Management as a rec helps, but isn't the only way to get an interview slot.

As others said, Recommendation is "almost" required...... There are so many people applying there that basic mins are hardly competitive..... When in doubt, apply and see what happens....

Well, nobody in my class last year or anyone I have seen since has been hired without an internal rec. So take it for what it is worth.

I think that you are right, but you don't have to have one from a manager.

OK there is always the exception to the rule. The way I have seen it, if you have the mins. or slightly above, then an internal rec. is almost a must. If you have a crap load of time from maybe another carrier, you may get by with just line pilot recs.

I have 2 internal recs, plus I used to work there. Above minimums, stuff went in March...

As yet, no love...
