As long as we have guys picking up draft nothing will change. STOP PICKING UP DRAFT!!!!! WHAT DOES IT TAKE FOR GUYS TO REALIZE THAT WE ARE DOING THIS TO OURSELVES??????? Reserves are totally utilized to the max. I had a CRS scheduler tell me that they are relying on draft to cover trips. And guess what, it's working in the favor of the company. What do you think would happen if jets couldn't move b/c of the lack of crews? This is the month to not accept draft. Start thinking beyond your own pockets!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amen, brother. Being in one of the seats most affected by the "overmanning" BS, I still refuse to answer the calls for draft (avg once per 2 weeks, despite my "do not call" preference in VIPS)... why should I help them make my employment redundant or help them continue to STEAL MY MONEY????
Nobody seems to grasp the concept that short-term sacrifice = long term benefit. Nobody picks up flying, 4a2b goes away, pay gets restored. Too difficult?

I hate that it might cancel a flight and not get the freight to the destination on time, but, this is the only way to teach the company a lesson and restore our pay!

Bingo, even if it's "only an airport standby" (heard this quote before) turn it down for one month and watch how quickly things turn around! Let's thing long term, past the 15th paycheck in January!!

I don't think the company will take any announced action on 4a2b until the arbitration plays out unless another "settlement agreement" opportunity allows them to settle for a small percentage if they agree to exit 4a2b. Until then they'll just optimize, revise deadhead pairings to operate back, crank up VTO values, draft etc. Guess we'll see the company's future intentions when the Jan/Feb bid packs get posted.

Unless we prevail with the Arbitrator, I for one hope the company stays in 4A2B until we actually get into Negotiations...
Maybe by that point we'll have enough folks p**sed off enough at the company to reap some real payback and gain a real fix to the weak Contract we're operating under!
In the meantime, everyone really needs to wake up to the fact that they continue to undermine our long-term collective success by picking up every trip in Open Time...Just Say No!

You can get contractual and say it can be done per the CBA but the CBA also says 4a2b is to be used to 'Prevent or Delay'. It's not being used that way. It's being used to artificially keep the bidpack averages down.
I'm just saying...

Memphis guys are equally guilty, but not more guilty. Let's stop assigning blame on different groups. (Not that you did Purple.)
As to lack of crews, the holidays are coming up and so are the inevitable Memphis ice storms. No amount of money will get me out of my cozy little bed on or near a holiday or during a storm.
I believe heads will roll because of out lack of reserves.

Lets see some leadership by example from the Senior Pilots. Right now the only guys being affected by 4A2B ae the junior folks.
As long as the Senior (specifically 60+) crowd are running around advocating a furlough. In addition to the others standing up at union meetings calling for a furlough, how can you blame a junior guy for padding the account when he can.
You want this to end, get the Senior crowd to "protect min days off" Although, it's probably too late for this to have any effect.
