Friends don't let friends vote yes on a worthless TA. Needless to say I will more than likely (99.9% probability) be voting NO.

What does FedEx make year 2? Lets just average the pay for the pax carriers, since our business is so similar. Or better yet, why even get a new contract, lets keep the old one for another 50 years. That way everyone can pay their dues under the current CBA?

Also, 72 hours doesn't mean line improvement and more time off, it just means less pay for those that don't reach guarantee, i.e. most 72 and dc-8 lines and all reserves.

Obviously your new around here. ALL RESERVE LINES reach guarantee. And if we have a lower guarantee we will have a lower Construction Cap. Which means less days gone. TAFB! Please don't tell me you don't know what a Trip-rig is.

I don't want to start a whole "you are a new guy, we all have had to do it, pay your dues" argument, but I agree with Charlie on this. I thought the whole idea was to improve all aspects of this contract. I know you can't get everything, and we probably won't, but what is wrong with comparing 2nd year pay at Purple, and trying to get that here? Aren't we trying to make this place better for all currently here, as well as those who will come next?

Why the negative attitude toward the new guys? Yes, everyone that has come before me has suffered, so why not change it? I've been through 3 furloughs in 5 years. So how does suffering low pay satisfy "paying your dues"? It would be nice to finally make some bucks. And I look forward to what we already have. But I also hope that the guys that built this place get a nice chunk of change for their work. How does the saying go - " A rising tide lifts all boats."? Let's not make this discussion about young vs. old. Let's see what the whole TA contains.

So because everyone before us had to do it, we have to? That is a terrible attitude. If everyone has that attitude, things will never change. I had to live on 26K last year and I know how much it sucks. I really don't want someone else to have to do it even if I did. Let's also not forget, us newbies had to survive on $26K this year. Ten years ago, the newbies had to too but it was worth more....much more. SWA 2nd year is around $90K and the co. makes much less than UPS, so yes, I think $100K for 2nd year would be fair and it's still less than FedEx.
I wonder what you think you should make. Nash, if you feel you make too much, feel free to send some my way because I am sick of working a 2nd job and not seeing my fiancee a lot.

Yeah, but due to the new trip rigs, we'll only generate three credit hours per month!

Maybe I don't understand. I know ALL Reserve lines reach guarantee as far as pay, but I've never exceeded guarantee or been even close and I don't know anyone that has (not saying it's not happening), so now I'm getting paid 75 hours each month, and soon I'll be getting 72 hours. Right now I get 12 days off in 28, and in the next contract it is rumored to be 13. Are you saying that with a 72 hour guarantee the company is going to increase my days off on reserve because of Trip-rigs? Clear as mud?
