Accepted fares going downhill
I know this is a rehash but this is the first month in a long time that it took a lot of effort to get under the bank for the deadheads. Just got an email for original pairing at the end of the month and had company tickets cost 50% more than accepted fares to the tune of $500. Delta's takeover of NWA and Continental seem to have tossed whatever those accepted fares were based on right out the window.

I have a trip to ATL this month (JAN), the accepted fare is $178 I can usually get there via NWA thru DTW/MSP for around $300. Now the first leg is on NWA and the second is on DL...the fare....drum roll pls....$1050 for a non refundable and $650 for fully ref.
I finally found a one way fare on DL wb site for $430....
This is going to get harder and harder....
But the accpeted fares are realistic...or so I have been told

Accepted fares are calculated before the bid pack is put together. Probably a week before.
When fares go up after the fact it results in actual prices often much different than the accepted fare. We used to have a great mechanism to ensure commuter and Memphian alike get a realistic amount to work with. Now only the Memphian gets this service.
This is called a "giveback".

and, do you mean commuter = deviator, and Memphian = non-deviator?

I actually gave the union proof of the company adjusting my bank up after they purchased my scheduled ticket and then decreasing my bank after I deviated (don't tell busboy I double booked), a clear violation of the contract. The unions response was Gungho until it got to the CE desk. Grievance not filed because the company and the union are in Secret negotiations to resolve this issue. I hope they resolve it soon I have been holding my breath in excess of 2 years.
If you notice now the bank does not go up when they buy a higher scheduled ticket just the "approved fare". That is their little way of working around the CBA. HoHum says DT.

I am sure that is what he means. Prior to FOX taking over the expense accounts you could use the higher of the accepted fare or the actual fare (assuming a scheduled ticket was bought). Many examples of this. The help code on the pre-FOX electronic expense report stated this. We gave it back when DT in contract enforcement decided it wasn't worth fighting for.

Just got an accepted fare of $685. Company bought actual ticket for $1485. What is going on with our contract enforcement and grievance office? It appears nothing is going on there!!! HOW about something to show for all our dues. I am a proud ALPA member with 9 years at a previous major airline. The ALPA offices there would be ashamed at how our grievance and enforcement offices support us here at FX
