EVA has some codeshare agreements with different airlines but a lot of them are route specific. Their sight isn't too user friendly but in the search field do a search for codeshare and the airline you want. On the AA website do a EVA codeshare search and it will give you the specifics. Recently flew on OZ. The ticket counter lady put in my UAL FF number but said she wasn't sure it would get me credit. Perhaps she was nice enough to do it as I'm StarAlliance Gold?
(Amazing how different they treat you when you have Gold on StarAlliance. I know, its not that special, you just get treated much better than if you don't have any status.)

FR8TFLYER, unless it's changed in the last 6 months, you can earn AAdvantage miles on EVA if you purchase a ticket with an AA flight number.
