I tried giving my UAL FF# at check in and she said "No miles for you". She also asked to see my FedEx ID--anyone else have this request?

How am I supposed to enjoy a 13 hour First Class flight if I know it's all for naught (no points)???
How can you enjoy FC knowing that?!

Was it one of the "No Mileage Credit" classes?

Have you tried to claim it with United?

Here is a little trick that worked for me at Brand X. Usually, because of the special fares United will not give you mileage most of the time when you check in. However, if after checking in you call the number on the back of the card and tell them you just checked in, you will get credited for the miles. Worked everytime for me.

I think the issue is the class of ticket purchased versus the carrier. I bought a biz class on Asiana through GT and at check in the agent told me no mileage because of the special fare Fedex was using. That also happened with a United fare I got when trying to claim the mileage with another Star Alliance carrier. (That particular fare was M class even though the trip pairing had Y on it). Same goes for Cathay, although it only happened on a vacation package. So check the class of ticket when you make your purchase.

I am no expert but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night!

I had a FC Asiana scheduled DH flt recently and was not allowed mileage due to the FDX discounted ticket being less than 50% of the normal price. Beware....

Here's something that has always worked for me. Give it a try, as it might work for you too. If mileage isn't added to your frequent flyer plan, either automatically when booked, or when you ask a ticket or gate agent for the courtesy, try writing a one paragraph letter, to the airlines' frequent traveler program, mentioning to them that on such and such a date, you flew on such and such a flight, and would they please apply the mileage. With the letter, and this is the key, include either the eticket, or a copy of it, or the boarding pass for the appropriate flight. I've never had them refuse that method, in fact I keep a few of these letters on my computer and just change the appropriate information, and send it off. Oh, and don't forget to include your frequent flyer number on the letter.

Who didn't allow mileage? United?
Or did the Asiana gate agent just not put in your mileage number?

The ticket agent, the hostess in the fC lounge and the gate agent all said the same thing. They claimed that the ticket was discounted more than 50% so no mileage. I'll try going through United next.

I've never had a problem with Asiana before, but this ticket was pretty cheap for
fc.

I had the exact same experience and explanation. Tried going to Mileage Plus website to claim miles but it wants you to wait two weeks (won't accept the claim). Will keep trying all avenues including writing a letter as described above. The fare was so low I couldn't deviate from my home city (unless I wanted 13 hours in coach). So no deviating, no miles...this system is heading downhill!!

I used to fly Asiana quite a bit when Fedex had the $1300 discounted FC tickets to Asia, basically ID90s because looking at the online fares the tickets were over $10K. I always received united FF miles but I always went on the Asiana site (where I created an account) and was then able to pull up my reservation and just add my United FF number to the reservation. Always worked, fwiw......

While on the topic of FF miles. Anyone know what U.S. airlines code share with EVA Airlines? I looked on AA and UAL's website and no mention of earning miles while flying EVA.
