Toxic Effects
Date: 09-18-10 Host: Ian Punnett Guests: Tom Krohmer, Brian Tuohy On Saturday night, Ian Punnett welcomed the "Toxic Reverend," Tom Krohmer, who discussed his personal journey to track the effects of toxic chemicals on human health. According to Krohmer, most Americans have between 160 to 200 toxins in their systems, which, even at low doses, can build up and cause numerous chronic illnesses. Harmful chemicals are found in everything from anti-bacterial soaps and sunscreens to the chlorinated water that pours out of our showers, he explained. Simple hair sample tests can provide a good overview of what toxic substances a person's body may contain, though more extensive tests need to be performed by a toxicologist, Krohmer noted.
These environmental toxins can impair our immune systems and allow subclinical mycoplasma infections to proliferate, Krohmer continued. This type of infection likely plays a role in Gulf War illness, posttraumatic stress disorder, fibromyalgia, depression, heart conditions, and other physical and mental illnesses, he suggested. Krohmer shared his own painful struggle with a form of reactive arthritis, known as Reiter's Syndrome, that he believes was caused by a mycoplasma infection. He also spoke briefly about the lack of real protection offered by the FDA, EPA and other government agencies, the Safe Chemicals Act, and Prof. Garth Nicolson's Project Day Lily.

So - in other words - it is time to stop eating, drinking, bathing and breathing if we want to stay healthy!

From that toxic effects link... Interesting how organic really isn't.
Toxic chemicals that the CDC has found in many HEALTHY Americans (21,22, main source exposure food ( 144, 82, tf1,tf2).
One example of "toxic food" (tf1) is that the highest levels of perchlorte (a rocket fuel additive)
that was found in fresh profuce was in "baby green organic lettuce (169).
170: <posted E-Mail sent 2-26-04: Subject: Perchlorate in Lettuc from fertilizer and / or Jet Fuel
Every year approximately 200,000 die from prescription drug reactions and another 80,000 die from medical malpractice (4) , while 41,000 die in auto accidents. [DRUG TOPICS, October 23, 1995, pg. 14-16.] What is wrong with our focus on the "drug war" when 200,000 die each year from prescription drugs, yet approximately only 20,000 die as a result of illegal drug use (60) ? The Annual Cost of Rx Therapy Problems Placed at $77 Billion (60) .
A Congressional Report states that of the 1,400 chemicals known to cause illnesses, less than 6% are tracked (145B). The huge transnational companies that produce toxic chemicals found in pesticides, herbicides and industrial and household products profit not only from the sale of these products, but also from the symptoms and chronic illnesses that they can trigger (157 Censored PDF at reference page and bottom of this page).
