It means you can see if there is a sleep room available. There aren't nearly enough of them.

BTW - Im only working 13 days this month. How about you?

Ok, here is my take for what it's worth (not much). There is nothing anyone can do if you INDIVIDUALY exercise your rights within the CBA, operate IAW the CFM, FOM etc.

So, nobody can make you fly on your days off, fly faster or off the flight plan.

However, pushing late without a valid reason, or anything else that might get you in trouble would be stupid at this stage in the game. I have been told that the NMB feels that the pilot group has been taking the high road. At this point we don't want to jeopadize that, nor do we want any hostages taken. So play the game smartly, and stay out of trouble.

Here is what you do and you will never go wrong. When you get the paperwork you have 10 minutes to push, forget scheduled time. The ramp agent writes the time (make sure it is exact they try to cover their arses sometimes) then sit on your hands for 9 minutes (will seem like forever) and push. If you get it 5 minutes early you leave 5 late. If you get at push time you leave 10 late and so on. Play by their rules and don't get burned.

No, that is what you choose to do. Play that game and you'll get burned. Good luck to you.

It's ludicrous to suggest that I did not read the FCIF before posting about it. WHAT, exactly, is your point?

So, let's say I show at showtime, walk over to the folder, begin the paperwork drill and check FCIFs, read Jack's nice little note, and leave for the jet to arrive IAW FOM parameters. Did I receive a VIPS notification that my trip was revised to include a 5-minute-early block-out from Base Y? No. Then I'll fly the times on the printed pairing I carry in my shirt pocket.

I fly to Base Y, go to the hotel, report to the lobby, get a ride to the airport, and commence the paperwork drill once again. I complete my Flight Deck Prep, conduct a thorough crew briefing, and wait for the ramp to do their job. They finish early and inform me that it's OK for us to leave early.

That's nice.

The airplane says, "The World On Time"

If the ramp's running late... I'm allowed 10 minutes with the Weight & Balance paperwork. Does it take 10 minutes? Very seldom. Will I TAKE ten minutes? Yupp.

We'll know when the Company needs more than 100% from us.

There's no game here -- it's strictly business.

What a bunch of limp-wristed pussies, eh Tony?

Please tell me you are not depending on this group of knee knocking wooses to stand firm and help get that good contract?! "Oh dear, I might get called to explain why I took the whole 10 minutes I am 'alloted' after the Ramp brought out the paperwork" They are OBVIOUSLY not checking it well enough, because there is always a mistake or question somewhere in there.

I guess they have never heard that $hit happens? You had better 'take your time' and make sure the paperwork is right, you have briefed the crew for all contingencies, especially in this age of terrorism.

Hey NewGuy (must be new), I do exactly what I am allowed to do by the company. Anything more or less would be wrong. I don't do 99% and I don't do 101%. When the poop hits the fan it all comes down to the paperwork and mine is 110% correct. I make sure of that by doing 100% of my job and taking the time given to me. Get a grip and join the team.
