Absolutely correct.

Every single pilot...not one less. They can shove peak as far as I'm concerned...if their dividend checks suffer they will be more motivated.

A realignment bid is due out any day now. I have seen the numbers and if the company plans to go through with it, it will be plain stupidity. A cancellation of the furlough is the only sound decision.

If this is all true, it is a true testament to this pilot group. Solidarity here is unbelievable. Amazing what solidarity brings to a group when you beat them for 20 years

Crossing my fingers that good news is coming for the furloughed guys.

So the company brings them back at full pay for December and January, gives them training dates for February, then announces a new furlough Feb 1st and kicks them out the door 90 days later...Expensive, but it gets them through peak.

I'd say we need a "no-furloughs until all are trained" agreement in writing before we call off the OT/JA ban.

Even they aren't that stupid (they are really close though). The furlough is saving them about $1.5 million a month. The service failures alone are costing them way more than that.

I hear ya, but it's very stupid for them not to have called this off by now. The only reasons I can figure that it hasn't been called off are...

1. Saving face with the IPA. It's too late for that though...If they call it off any time in the next fews months it will look like a total public debacle on the company's part. They needed to keep them out for a couple years to make it worth it. They made a really bad call.

2. Trying to break the IPA. Hold out long enough and the OT/JA ban will crack or the union will agree to contract concessions. Wrong...neither of those things happened and won't happen in the future.

3. Momentum. So many people with a hand in the decision to furlough and figuring out its effects...it just takes time to get everyone on the same "bring back the furloughees" page.

I still think their biggest worry right now is peak. If they can get through that, they will have more breathing room to negotiate the furloughees return. We need to make sure they don't get it until we get everyone back in a jet.

From the rarely visited planet of optimism, I hear it will be a straight vacancy bid including recalls. If it is a realignment, where could they possibly realign from? Could they realign some of the -400 to SDF, or gut MIA and ONT, as there doesn't seem to be much fat anywhere else, even in a post-peak environment.
