UPS mgt into the IPA

From the rarely visited planet of optimism, I hear it will be a straight vacancy bid including recalls. If it is a realignment, where could they possibly realign from? Could they realign some of the -400 to SDF, or gut MIA and ONT, as there doesn't seem to be much fat anywhere else, even in a post-peak environment.

They likely still haven't made up their minds what they're going to do, and won't until each person in the chain of indecision has created evasion for accountability.
"Where decisions aren't made, fingers are pointed and blame is assigned"
That should be the slogan on the website...

That's correct, buggs. The stapler will come out of the desk drawer if we don't get enough cards and we go to accrete them. Imagine their morale then when above them sits every single member of the 109 furloughees.

Again, referencing the RLA, 35% is the only number that matters. 50%+1 means nothing to NMB. That only comes into play if members of one union try to form a new union i.e. DPA movement at Delta. NMB doesn't look at the percentage, if the 35% requirement is met, then and only then will they rule on class and craft.

This mgt group looks more pathetic everytime they make an announcement. I'm sure they're going to try to keep the last 109 out as long as they possibly can but they would look better if they just announced a recall and set up training dates. Hopefully this gave #110 and up some peace mind but the reality is that nothing changed today despite this "big announcement"

From System Chief Pilot Capt. J Barnes
After evaluating 2011 flying and staffing needs, the pilot furloughs scheduled for January 30, 2011, will not occur.
All it says is they will not occur. Nothing about the future furloughs are cancelled.
