Thanks guys! I think this is one of the great benefits to flying here as long as they are fat enough on reserves to let you drop. Most of my buds at other airlines don't have the flexibility that we do when it comes to adjusting our schedules most months. Some of them couldn't even get yesterday off to watch the Packers make history again; what a shame!!
Flaps,
I'm not sure what you are talking about? Despite being "fat" as you call it and despite the company's overmanning claims (and the resulting taking it up the 4.a.2.b), I haven't been able to move or drop an R day in over 3 years. It just doesn't make sense!*?

I guess this is another worthless contract clause:
"Moving an R-day(s)
A pilot shall have the ability to submit to move an R-day(s) within a bid period and that submission shall not be unreasonably denied."
I guess any request is unreasonable....

golfandfly, if you're trying to create a stand-alone R day, that will never be approved.
I have had some success bugging the ACP to help me adjust the schedule.
While I have no insider knowledge of the system, sometimes it seems as if the model CRS uses to consider R day moves\drops is based on the old R day manning model versus the new and improved leaner staffing.
In many cases, seems like the model is telling CRS *** were you thinking when you only have X reservists to cover Y trips....even though that's the way the company elected to build it

Kronan,
I'm really just talking about moving any R day. Maybe moving one from the end of the block to the front, or vice versa. Nothing that creates a single day, that doesn't even get to CRS..
My guess is that if almost all R days are short manned (probably the manning model that you spoke of). Therefore you can't move anything, because it would cause a greater shortage on the day that you want to change even though the day you move it to also has a shortage... Sounds ridiculous???
I agree that the only way to move anything is to call your ACP. I haven't done this and probably won't unless it is absolutely essential to have a certain day off. It really shouldn't be this hard. Unreasonably denied? It's hard to quantify that....
