Mark

Not defending ignorance but it is a democracy. Guys can vote No if they want for what ever reason they want.

Surely you don't expect this thing is going to PASS with a 100% thumbs up.

I think an ideal democracy would require every voter to pass a knowledge test prior to receiving a ballot for any election.

And, I get to grade it!!

Agreed........but alot of this is emotionalism.

In past roadshows and Rallies the Association puts out the War cry and beats the drums to get everyones emotions high. That is part of the game, to get people interested and involved......................

As smoke from the battle clears, there are always a few casualties though they are minor. Emotion is always high at the end of contract negotiations. I've been through more negotiations than I care to remember.

There were NO voters at UAL and DAL when they landed those BIG contracts in 2000. There are always ONE issue voters who feel they were shorted. That is the way it is.............just like in Presidentail elections, One issue folks.........Pro life or Pro choice, nothing else matters to them.

Quite Frankly the company doesn't want this to pass with more than 50% plus 1.........................so quite possibly we won't disappoint them by too much. We'll have to wait and see.

Amen. These are the same people who were unwavering in their support for the neg. committee until they produced this TA. Now suddenly, it's Chimenti's personal TA. I for one trust these guys now when they tell me it's a good deal. I am reading it for myself and am waiting for the pilot proof summary to show up in the mail. I am also truly amazed that this came without any red letters, media bashing, threat DVD's, etc. I would never have predicted that FWS would do this without a fight to show the other 200k employees that UNION = BAD NEWS. I think the most profound responses i've seen here are those that reflect on what happens if this is voted down.. We lose all credibility not only with mgt and the NMB but also with our MEC and the neg committee...

I keep hearing this every so often(51%). Why wouldn't it send the message of "My Negotiating Committee Speaks for Me" if we pass this at 100% and then with immediate individual resolve on Nov 1, 2010 get things moving next time?

It would.............My point was the Company doesn't want this to pass by much more than 50% +1.

As far the NC goes, I doubt they really care too much about the total vote...........as long as it passes.

If it fails to be ratified that would be a different story, I would expect that the NC would resign and maybe a few MEC members.

Why didn't this group start with Immediate Individual Resolve Jun 2004??
