Anyone *****in should point their frustration at the individuals who during "individual resolve" flew draft, massive carryover and did not protect min days off. Most guys were on board with the plan and some trips went unfilled. But the majority of trips that the scheds were drafting for were eventually filled. Many of you know some of these individuals. Lets educate them for next time.

I'm not sure where you're going to start. The SIG has been disputing pairings since 1998 and we still have guys standing in line to pick those up. Throw a little DRF or VLT out there and it's a feeding frenzy.

I am also truly amazed that this came without any red letters, media bashing, threat DVD's, etc. I would never have predicted that FWS would do this without a fight to show the other 200k employees that UNION = BAD NEWS. I think the most profound responses i've seen here are those that reflect on what happens if this is voted down.. We lose all credibility not only with mgt and the NMB but also with our MEC and the neg committee...
Can I get another AMEN!

As far the NC goes, I doubt they really care too much about the total vote...........as long as it passes.

While everyone needs to vote this on its merits as they see fit I think a high approval will send a positive message to both company and our union that we are united and believe we have received the best deal our union could negotiate. There will always be things that (that we individually) wish could have been better (higher?? ), but a strong endorsement will help in the future by further empowering our union. Remember, endorsement is only part of the process, it also has to be enforced!

Endorsement and Enforcement!

I've seen a lot of posts where they say the Company wants 50%. I don't get that. I know what you mean but I just don't think they care how it passes. They negotiated a contract and they did the best they could, just like Bob and the boys did. I think they're glad it's over too. Now they can get back to their families, playiong golf, and the other business of running the legal department. Could be wrong, but.......

At present, we're not faced with a "what if?" or a "Why didn't?" We have a TA before us that represents gains... large gains. It is, as Bob described, "sprinkled throughout with money". Are we here to complete a business transaction, or are we here to burn the house down?

We're learning, right?

.
I agree 100%. the thing you have to remember is that we have never been faced with actually losing anything in negotiations. We all knew we were going to get a pay raise, however meager it might be. And we all knew we had the best retirement plan in the industry, and the best vacation plan as well. And we had a NC that wasn't all dicked like the UPS guys ended up with, no fault of theirs. So this crew force is going to have to grow with the process as it presented to them. Just because you haven't had a job action doesn't mean you aren't a real Union. maybe it just means you're doing things right...
