FDX: To LIDO or Not to LIDO?

Times have changed. Probably time to check the whining and learn a better way. Besides, once you've tried an EFB...you're hooked. You'll see.

Sorry I guess I wasn't real clear. My point was that with JEPPS the data was given to Honeywell and recoded for the specific fms. With LIDO the charts and fms data come from the same source. Less chance of anything being lost in translation
Sorry you can't move away from your old friend JEPPS. In the old world we had JEPPS charts and Honeywell database for the FMS. Sometimes a real nightmare. In the new world we have LIDO charts and LIDO database in the FMS. They are the same all the time.
Not correct always a jepp database in the fms, honeywell just tailored the data for the aircraft specific requirements. ie MD11 fx1 or A300 fx3,fx5,fx6 etc. Now we use LIDO data.

[QUOTE=MaxKts;128287]In other words, you get to have two chances at data being miss entered instead of one. I've used the EFB and thought it was a lot better than my preconceived notions. I'm looking forward to having it on more airplanes. It's here to stay--stop biatching--end of thread! Now on to more important things--where is that lanyard thread again?
