If it means not having to carry a 45 pound Jepp bag around the world, I'd use approach plates printed on toilet paper by the tidy bowl man!

I'm with you 100%!!! I don't understand why people are so resistant to change. If I don't have to do another Jepp change and carry the them things, I'll all for it. Yes, there are some problems with Lido, but these problems will be worked out over time. I've been using them as my primary source since Feb. There will be a Jepp burning ceremony at my house on the 14th of OCT.

I'm confident in LIDO and my criticisms tend to echo what others have said regarding the binders, the size, the scattered info, etc...stuff that will go away when the EFB is installed. I haven't heard of any errors lately.

1) The Boeing will never get an EFB.

2) LIDO is an inferior product offered by the lowest bidder.

But at least I'll know where all the lakes and rivers are located while I'm flying a STAR.

I'll use it because I have to, but as usual the guys that made the decision to buy this, fly cubicles not airplanes.

You must have been issued the light weight version.

The Boeing is getting the EFB's starting in January. That's from 72 Standards.

I'm all for it. Most of the errors associated with LIDO are offset with the errors that were in JEPPS. With JEPPS only you didn't know if they were wrong because you didn't have anything to compare them to!
I've been on vacation and then in school (using LIDO in the school house since AUG) since June I'm glad I don't have to do all those revisions

I hope that's true and I'm sure they've been told that. HOWEVER... I've also heard from guys in standards that:
1. we're all getting laptops implemented March 2006 (last march)
2. that the Boeing will be converted to a two engine valsan with an inflight APU in the #2 hole (which I guess is kinda true with the 757 )
3. Jepp made an offer to the company and we're going back to Jepp EFB and paper products provided in the plane like the LIDO bags.

I'm sure they've been told something but I don't think anyone really knows. Kinda like when the 757 will come online. I've heard everything (from standards guys) from the big bid in January will have 757 slots and we've already lined up sims, to it won't be on property for at least a couple years maybe longer.

When it's painted purple and on the ramp I'll believe it.
